The purpose of the initial appointment is to gather all the relevant information necessary to make a diagnosis and then to use that to give treatment recommendations. Patient information and medical forms will be collected during this visit. Current radiographs are required and will be taken if unavailable.
A thorough periodontal and oral examination is performed and will be followed by a detailed explanation of the nature of the problem. Treatment options will be discussed with the general dentist and communicated to the patient at this visit or a subsequent consultation appointment.
Our office manager will provide financial information including the estimated cost of treatment and insurance benefits and make it available at the end of the appointment.
